The tower was built in 1989 on the site of an old wooden structure, on the mountain of the same name near the town of Bad Grund. It is 32 metres high and offers a panoramic view of the Harz Mountains. In good weather, you can see the Brocken mountain.

The view isn't great, the trees block it. The walk to the tower is more interesting than the view itself, which is how it goes sometimes.

There is a playground and a restaurant-café near the tower.

If you walk along this path from the car park
51.817778, 10.253500 and turn left, you can see karst sinkholes. The fact is that there is a fairly large cave below you, which you can also visit. The entrance is near the car park.

And this place is located directly above the largest hall of the cave, and bats live here, so everything is blocked off.

On the way back, we visited also this place
51.818083, 10.245667, which is called Bismarck Cliffs (Bismarckklippe). It was probably an observation deck a long time ago, but now the trees are too big. Still, it's an interesting place.
