The Tafel Tower (officially named Ernst-Binnewies-Turm), 19 metres high, was built in 1926 on the High Tafel mountain. It was constructed on the site of an older wooden tower dating from 1877. As was often the case in those days, the money was raised through donations.
From 1926 to 1937, there was a bar near the tower. During the war, it closed, and the tower fell into disrepair. Since 1975, the tower has been repaired several times. At the moment, it is not in perfect condition, but it is passable.

We went in June and found quite a lot of strawberries and raspberries along the way.
