Renaissance castle in the Loire Valley, built in 1545. Although it's private and residential, the park and castle can be visited.

In 1617, the castle was bought by Paul Ardier, who added it's main feature - a gallery of portraits. The gallery consists of 327 portraits of people who lived between 1328 and 1643, and is the largest in Europe. Since 1925, the castle has been owned by the Gosselin family, who continue to restore it and maintain the gallery. We did not visit the castle inside, but reproductions of many portraits can be seen in the park.
