Chemin de Halage trail

Not far from the town of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, a path is carved in high cliffs along the Lot River, which is now a tourist attraction.


The trail was made in 1845 and was used by barge haulers.






In 1985, an artist from Toulouse created a 30 meters long bas-relief on the trail. It depicts the life on the river, its flora and fauna.


On the way from the parking lot, you can also see few art objects.




Getting there: parking N 44 28.989 E 1 38.728, then walk along the river.
