Salzgitter, one of the cities in Germany with a special administrative structure. It consists of many separate towns, so you just can't find the city of Salzgitter on the map.
We visited three places here, all in the close vicinity. First, we walked around
Salzgitter Lake (parking
52.164902, 10.308683). The lake has a very good infrastructure: beach, circular path, playgrounds, restaurant, cafe and bar.

Next we drove to
Salder Castle, built in 1608 for the noble Saldern family (parking
52.135022, 10.338620). Since 1962 there is a local museum inside. Around the castle there is a small well-kept area where you can take a walk.

The last site was the
ruins of Lichtenberg Castle (parking
