Riomaggiore

Riomaggiore is one of the five picturesque towns in the Cinque Terre. The nearest to La Spezia, so most tourists start the visit from this place. This is the most romantic town and in the evening a lot of people are waiting for sunset on the embankment.


The town is completely touristik and full of cozy hotels, shops and restaurants. There is even a small, stony beach.

In the guidebooks you can find information about the hiking trail to Manarola - Via dell'Amore. Be careful and check information in the internet before the visit, as the trail is closed for few years.

Getting there: by train, which runs between La Spezia and Levanto, through the towns of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Find the schedule at http://www.trenitalia.com/tcom-en. Near the entrance to the city there is a parking for 180 cars (N 44 05.996 E 9 44.567).
